Service Description: Here we present a new global map of biomass carbon stored in above and belowground living vegetation created using the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Good Practice Guidance for reporting national greenhouse gas inventories. This map provides important benchmarks for climate policy dialogues aiming to reduce carbon emissions from land-use change, and may also advance global terrestrial and climate modeling efforts by providing improved representation of global vegetation carbon stocks.
